He completed his undergraduate degree from Istanbul Bilgi University Economics and Management dual-degree program and London School of Economics and Political Science Economics and Management program. He defended his Master thesis titled “Geopolitics of Energy: The Case of Turkey-Rising to Challenges” in 2015 from Sabancı University Public Policy Department. He worked as a research assistant in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Recep Tayyip Erdogan University in 2015-2018. He is currently conducting his doctoral dissertation on the Belt and Road Initiative in the field of Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul University, and is still working as a research assistant at Istanbul Medeniyet University, which he started in 2018. His main research areas are Turkish Foreign Policy and Energy politics, Eurasian political economy, theories of international relations and the One Belt One Road Initiative. Having articles on the One Belt One Road Initiative and theoretical readings of Azerbaijani Diplomacy History in international refereed journals such as Caucasus International, World of Diplomacy, Kahraman has also penned opinions on the Eastern Mediterranean and Chinese Foreign Policy at TRT World. He is also vice editor in Journal of Maritime Studies.
